Calorie Pace Privacy PolicyEffective Date: May 21, 2026Calorie Pace helps users log food, nutrition, weight, activity, and progress. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app handles, how it is used, and the choices available to users.Information You ProvideCalorie Pace may store information you enter in the app, including profile details, nutrition goals, macro targets, meal logs, favorite foods, recent foods, saved meals, custom foods, notes, weight entries, fitness goals, onboarding preferences, and app settings.This information is used to operate the app, calculate nutrition totals, show progress, personalize coaching, and save your local app state.Local StorageCalorie Pace stores app data on your device using app-protected local storage, UserDefaults for small preferences, Keychain for locally saved secrets when applicable, and local cache files for food lookup results.Calorie Pace does not sell your personal information and does not use your data for advertising or tracking.Apple HealthIf you choose to connect Apple Health, Calorie Pace may read Health data types you permit, including weight, steps, walking and running distance, exercise minutes, active energy, and workouts.Calorie Pace may write nutrition totals and weight updates to Apple Health when you permit it.Health permissions are controlled by you in the Health app and iOS Settings. Calorie Pace does not use HealthKit data for advertising, tracking, data brokerage, or marketing.Food Search and Barcode LookupsWhen you search for foods or scan a barcode, Calorie Pace may send the search term or barcode to food data services such as Open Food Facts and, when configured, USDA FoodData Central. These requests are used only to return matching nutrition information.Returned food results may be cached locally on your device to improve speed and offline resilience.Food PhotosWhen you choose a food photo, Calorie Pace may analyze the selected image to estimate foods and nutrition. Photo estimates are approximate and should be reviewed before logging.Calorie Pace uses only the image you select. The app does not browse your photo library and does not save selected photos as photos.If a secure cloud food photo analysis endpoint is configured for the app, a resized JPEG copy of the selected photo may be uploaded over HTTPS for food estimation. Otherwise, photo analysis may be performed on device.Camera and Photo AccessCalorie Pace uses the camera for live barcode scanning. Photo access is used only when you choose an image for food photo analysis.NotificationsIf you enable reminders, Calorie Pace may schedule local notifications to remind you to log meals. Notification permissions can be managed in iOS Settings.Third-Party ServicesCalorie Pace may use Open Food Facts, USDA FoodData Central, Apple Health, and Apple platform services to provide app functionality. These services may process data according to their own terms and privacy practices.Tracking, Advertising, and AnalyticsCalorie Pace does not include third-party advertising, third-party analytics, cross-app tracking, or advertising identifiers. Calorie Pace does not sell personal information.Health and Nutrition DisclaimerCalorie Pace is for general wellness and food logging. It does not provide medical advice. Calorie, macro, activity, and food photo results are estimates and may not match your individual needs. For medical nutrition guidance, consult a qualified health professional.Data Retention and DeletionYour local app data remains on your device until you edit it, delete it, reset the app, or uninstall the app. Health data written to Apple Health can be managed in the Health app.You can reset app data from within Calorie Pace where available, or delete the app from your device to remove locally stored app data.Children’s PrivacyCalorie Pace is not designed for children under 13. Do not use the app to knowingly submit information from children under 13.SecurityCalorie Pace uses Apple platform storage and permission systems to help protect app data. Network requests use HTTPS where supported by the service. No app or transmission method can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure.Changes to This PolicyThis Privacy Policy may be updated as Calorie Pace changes.
